1. Purpose

This Safety Policy establishes the minimum safety standards applicable to all Riders, Sarathis (Driver Partners), employees, contractors and users of the CityRyde platform. The objective is to promote safe, lawful and respectful transportation while reducing risks associated with ride-hailing services.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to all rides facilitated through the CityRyde platform including bike taxi and any future mobility services.

3. Safety Principles

Safety is a shared responsibility. Riders, Sarathis and CityRyde each have responsibilities. Sarathis must operate vehicles safely and comply with applicable laws. Riders must follow safety instructions and behave responsibly. CityRyde provides technology, safety features and reporting mechanisms but does not guarantee elimination of all risks.

4. Sarathi Responsibilities

Operate only legally compliant vehicles; maintain licences, insurance and permits; obey traffic laws; never drive under the influence; wear protective gear where required; provide helmets where legally required and available; report accidents immediately.

5. Rider Responsibilities

Provide accurate pickup and destination information; wear helmets where required by law; avoid distracting the Sarathi; avoid unsafe behaviour; report emergencies through the Platform.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Violence, harassment, discrimination, intoxication while operating a vehicle, carrying prohibited goods, fraud, tampering with GPS, abuse of emergency features, and criminal conduct are prohibited.

7. Emergency Response

Users should contact local emergency services first in life-threatening situations. CityRyde's in-app safety features are supplemental and not a replacement for emergency responders.

8. Incident Reporting

Accidents, injuries, threats, harassment, property damage and criminal activity should be reported through the Platform as soon as reasonably practicable. CityRyde may investigate and cooperate with competent authorities.

9. Enforcement

CityRyde may suspend or terminate access to the Platform for violations of this Policy, subject to applicable law and internal review procedures.

10. Policy Updates

CityRyde may amend this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of updated versions.
